Dishes2U Working with Restaurant Partners for Food Pickup Options
With schools across the country being closed, we’ve received dozens of inquiries about the Dishes2U lunch delivery service. We also are very aware that our restaurant community is being hard-hit by stay-at-home mandates. Understanding the needs of both our customers and our restaurant partners, we decided to get a little creative!
Supporting our restaurant partners
We know how important it is to keep supporting our local restaurants, many of whom are Dishes2U restaurant partners. Helping them reach more people to keep their doors open and food being served (to go!) is critical to their future. With that in mind, we’re working with several of our partners to leverage the Dishes2U lunch ordering system to allow people to order from their favorite restaurants using the Dishes2U ordering system they’re familiar with. We’ve just started rolling this out, and so far, we’ve uploaded to-go menu options for Sauce Pizza and Someburros with more to follow. Simply log on to the Dishes2U lunch ordering portal as you would to order your school lunch for the week, review the available menus, order, enter your payment and then pick up your food. It’s that easy!
Using your lunch credits for online orders
It took a little technological footwork on our part, but we’ve now set up our Dishes2U school lunch ordering system so that when you place your food order for pick up from one of our select restaurant partners, any lunch credits you may have will automatically be applied to your take-out order. We heard from several parents that were concerned about what was going to happen to the lunch credits in their account when schools closed. Now you can use them to order food online!
Our customers and restaurant partners have been amazing
It goes without saying that recent events have really thrown us for a loop, but we’re so excited to be working with both our customers and restaurant partners to come up with creative options to help serve the community. We’ve recently started offering gift cards from a few local restaurants on our site with more to follow. We also created a community page with helpful resources. We’re working on a few more exciting developments; more announcements are coming soon! As always, we’re grateful to our customers and restaurant partners for continuing to support Dishes2U. We’ll get through this together!
